1800Wheelchair.com is proud to announce our fourth scholarship award. Established in 2006, the scholarship fund will award one $500 scholarship to a high school or undergraduate student on January 30, 2009. The scholarship is open to students of any major or concentration. The winner's name, essay and photo will be posted on 1800wheelchair.com. Although not a requirement, preference will be given to students with mobility disabilities.

	To qualify for entry, participants must meet the following criteria: • Enrolled at an accredited high school, college or university in the U.S. • Enrolled at the undergraduate level • Age sixteen (16) years or older • Legal resident of the U.S. or hold a valid student visa • Carry a status of “Good Standing” • Maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 • Submit their essay by 5:00 p.m. EST on December 15, 2008 • Essay should be 300 to 500 words in length

In our last essay question, we asked students to give advice about how we can accomplish the goal of inclusion for students with disablities. This theme inspired our Fall 2008 question: How have you offered/received a helping hand? Please describe a specific instance or occasion.
